Inspiration: How Education Kills Creativity (Ken Robinson TED Talk)

How School Kills Creativity

As I near the days of the beginning  of my masters program I am reminded of the flaws in the American the WORLDS education system and its curriculum. I am challenged with the need to stay creative, stay inspired, and to constantly think outside of the norm. The goal is to make the rules and not to fall into the traps of being one whom abides by them. I hope this inspires others as much as it inspired me!

I randomly saw this TED talk yesterday on the plane from Orlando and it definitely left me inspired and excited about the adventures and projects that I am working on. BELIEVE!

LIFE HACK “Creating Positive Change” (21 Day Challenge)

1. Write down 3 gratitudes each day
2. Journal about 1 positive experience you’ve had over the last 24 hours
3. Exercise, in order to teach your brain that behavior matters
4. Meditate and allow your brain to get over the cultural ADHD we get from trying to complete multiple tasks at once, and allow yourself to focus on the task at hand
5. Randomly, open your email and write one positive email praising or thanking someone in your social support network
——————————————————————————————
Starting tonight I will start this 21 day challenge I saw on TEDx Life Hacks. The goal is to change the way I think and to make myself a more confident and positive person. To find success and happiness in every day, and try to focus and achieve all of my short term and long term goals. As I will be applying to graduate school again focus and time are two very important things. Happiness is major and is the anchor that must hold me down through the storms until the sun shines again. Stay with me through this journey and feel free to participate!

The Creator Of TED Aims To Reinvent Conferences Once Again

cksaul:

Wurman promises that the conference will be “like a dinner party with a hundred of the world’s greatest minds having a conversation, two at a time.”

AWESOME.

Website here.

Simply pairings of amazingly interesting individuals prompted by a question, generating a conversation. For 10 minutes to 50 minutes. And so it will go – conversations interlaced with threads of improvised music. An astrophysicist & a microbiologist. An actor & a playwright. A jazz musician & a classical one. An energetic exploration of the lost art of conversing.

The 100 most interesting individuals:

minds & musicians in improvised discourse

A live performance.

A tablet app.

A live stream.

The most innovative moments, the sparks of ideas, & fundamental truths come from conversations between two individuals.

Goal… Attend #TED in the next 10 years…
